Eight killed, dozens injured in Iran shopping centre fire
At least eight people were killed and 36 were injured after a fire tore through the Arghavan shopping centre in Andisheh, west of Tehran, on Tuesday, according to Iranian media reports.
The blaze spread rapidly through the complex, with footage carried by state outlets showing large sections of the building engulfed in flames.
Iranian newspaper Mizan reported the fire was caused by flammable exterior cladding, raising concerns about building safety standards.
State broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting said authorities have ordered the identification and arrest of those responsible, including the property developer, as investigations into the incident continue.
