Seize the opportunity to reach agreement, Egypt says on US-Iran ceasefire Egypt has welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement that planned military strikes against Iran had been cancelled, expressing hope that the move would create momentum for a comprehensive agreement between Washington and Tehran. In a statement posted on X, Egypt’s foreign ministry said it viewed the development with “great satisfaction” and urged all parties to seize the opportunity to resolve outstanding issues through negotiations.
